Amici

Does anyone on this forum know of any six cylinder Triumphs racing with the
mechanical fuel cam operated by the throttle . This system was widely used
in race cars of the 1960 and 70 and available at the time through Lucas. Kas
reports in one of his publications of experimenting with this system to
overcome the limitations of the vacuum driven fuel cam. The throttle driven
fuel control system is currently available through Kinsler in the US. I'm
currently using a throttle driven fuel control mechanism on my TR6 race car
but am using the existing fuel cam to comply with current regulations. This
however greatly limits the ability to accurately control the AFR over the
full rev range . The adoption of the Kinsler unit overcomes this problem but
you no longer have a choke of WOT adjustment as you have on the standard
Lucas unit.

I am interested in corresponding with any racer who has fitted the Kinsler
unit.

Kind Regards

Geoff Byrne

PS I've self-isolated in my machine shop , lots to do
