Esko, I had very good results by buffing. I used a med grade buffing rouge on the bakelite to get most of the brown and dinge out of it. Then used Jeweler's rouge to finish it. This was all with a buffing wheel on a bench grinder. I would say the piece rates a 9 on a 1 to 10 scale. Whole process takes maybe 30 minutes.
