Just finished installing my rebuilt temp/oil gauge back in my BJ8 and wanted to put in a plug for a home made tool that I used. Cut a 1/4" slot in a 5/8" deep socket about an inch down. This works like a champ getting to the probe in the tight space under the thermostat housing. You can see a photo of the tool on the probe nut at Jim Werner's Healey site. Directions are self-explanatory although I did not use the clamps. Scot '66 BJ8 |
