Boot holes under fuel tank? 60 BT7

Hi all,
There are two small holes, apparently for sheet metal screws at the 
back of the boot floor on the rear lip under the rubber foam on which 
the fuel tank rests. I don't recall when I disassembled the car what 
the purpose of these two holes was. Can anyone help? Thanks.
