Yesterday was billed as "Kickback Day", meaning that there were no major events
planned until the Awards Banquet in the evening. The day began with a "Cowboy
Breakfast" but this buckaroo must have eaten the wrong part of the cow, as by
midafternoon I was feeling terrible. I eventually made it down to the Banquet,
watched others eat and called it a night.
This morning I felt absolutely awful and since I had planned to drive with
Carlos Cruz and Bill Cantrall as far as Dallas I asked Carlos if he would drive
my car as I was not up for a long day at the wheel. We travelled on surface
roads, dodged several rainstroms and crossed through some great country.
I'm stopped for the night in Plano TX and hope to feel well enough in the AM to
say goodbye and thanks to Bill and Carlos and set out for Memphis.
