Rear axle question

Destroyed the rear axle in my 3000 BJ8 in a race this weekend. Gears are in 
pieces and even broke the transfer case. Left fluid all over the track. Anyway, 
people were saying that I should look into a Ford rear end. Anyone having any 
experience on this? I would hope the standard Healey axle is tough enough for 
the six, but don't want to go through this again.
