What a great story! It certainly should become an article in all the Healey
publications.

I'd like to add a little historical sidebar to that.

In the April 29, 1955 issue of AUTOSPORT there was a story about a man named
K. W. Seaton of Solihull, who drove his Healey 100 from London, leaving on
6th September, 1954, to Melbourne via France, Switzerland, Italy,
Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jordon, Iraq, Persia (Iran),
Pakistan, India, Ceylon (Sri Lanka), then by boat to Freemantle. From there he
drove to
Melbourne, arriving on 5th December 1954. He was scheduled to arrive five
hours earlier, but stopped in Ballarat to attend a hill-climb!

John Monks of the Daily Express accompanied Mr. Seaton to Bombay where Mr.
Seaton met his wife. She then continued the rest of the way with her husband
and Mr. Monks returned to London.

Just a little snippet from a past issue of the Dipstick Digest
Newsletter of the world's smallest Austin-Healey Club
(where you never have to hold office or attend an activity)

Cheers,

Ron Yates
