Tracy,
the hand brake cable is held in place by 2 clips (the kind used on the wiring
harness). One is affixed to the frame jus aft of the handbrake. The cable
follows the frame at the base of the transmission tunnel, then turns outboard
toward the rt side of the car once it is under the rear seat area, just ahead
of the rear axel. The 2nd clip holds the cable to the heelboard, from which
the cable runs to its mechanical connections without further fasteners.
The cable is mounted low enough in the drive tunnel thatit does not interfere
with the u-joints.
I can send the minimally helpful diagram from the master parts list, off line,
if you like.

How should I affix the brake cable to avoid rubbing the drive
shaft/u-joints? Does this route in the tunnel all the way back then
turn? Or does it go under the car as it leaves the hand pull area? How
