Hi,

I'm redoing a phase 1 BJ8 (1964) that had a hinged center arm rest. The car
is missing this piece, and I have a couple of questions about it. 1) Was the
support material (the part of the arm rest supporting and under the padding)
wood or sheet metal in the original cars? 2) the magnetic catch that was
attached to the support material is missing. I doubt that any exist anymore,
so has anyone fabricated a decent facsimile of the original and if so, how did
you do it?

Any information on either question would be most appreciated.

Tom
