Well its my turn to ask questions about seatbelts. Getting close to finishing
body and paint on a BT7 for a friend. He ask about fitting shoulder belts in
the car. I have been down this road before but not on a BT7. He is asking about
particular belts available through Moss. These are the manual adjustment type.
Called "Vintage style seatbelts" (flat) & "Hook Mount" seatbelts.
Catalogue #s are:
 3-point short = 222-204 & 222-209
 3-point long = 222-205 & 222-206
Since we have not derived the exact mouting point on the rear wheelwell for the
shoulder strap I would be guessing at the length of belt required. Again I'll
asume that the rear mounting will be similar to a BJ8 type installation. The
inside belt (the shorter ones) vary from 16 to 36 inches. I suspect that the
difference here is whether the mount is on the floor or drive shaft tunnel and
how rotund the seat occupant may be.
Has anybody done this using the Moss belts and which length belts worked best?
I suspect that the flat versus hook belts is just a matter of personal
preference.
Thanks and ..
Aloha
Perry
