My BN2 also has a water pump whine, but it is due to the fan belt being too
wide.

Subject: BN2 water pump whine

My BN2 has always made a high pitched whining noise. Anyway, the other day
a fellow Healyite mentioned that my car sounds different to the others.
Cutting a long story short, I traced the whine to the water pump, which
incidentally does not leak and the cooling is fine. The manual says there is
a grease plug. Mine doesn't have one [aftermarket replacement?]. What means
is there to lubricate the pump? I have since tried engine oil, and neither 3
in 1 nor engine oil last more than a few minutes before the whine starts up
again. I suspect it needs grease, how do I get the grease in?

Thanks

Mike
