Inner splash panel color

I just noticed in my reading materials that the inner splash/air duct 
panels (i.e., the approximately 9 inch square panels that attach to the 
chassis just under the x-cross brace and at the bottom to the grill 
studs)  are supposed to be painted black.

Would someone please verify that for me as the finishing paint touches 
are being completed on my car now.
