$1500 or right around is pretty much the standard price for a Quaife.
However, among racers, opinions are split as to whether the added weight,
complexity,
and expense is worth it. First of all, unless you are racing, I would wonder
if you need the LSD. However, if you feel that you do want it, you might
consider a much simpler and more straightforward (and less costly) solution
that
will give you all the assurance you want at the limits -- preventing wheel
spin
on corners and locking up on serious straight ahead acceleration -- and go
with a "Phantom Grip" -- basically two blocks with a spring in between that
sells
for around $400 and is inserted into your standard differential. Personally,
I run a Quaife -- came with the car -- on my MGA and don't think it really
works as well as it should for what it costs, and I haven't had any personal
experience with the Phantom Grip, but a lot of racers I know do swear by it.
Cheers
Gary
