The valves on the 3000's are supposed to be set cold.

Should the valves be hot or cold when adjusting. The shop manual and Haynes
say cold but the tag on the valve cover says hot and both use the same
clearance.

 

I have looked in the archives and see the same question asked but I can't
find a response.

I would prefer to do it cold.
