Their is a thread repair metal insert called a Keen-Sert. It is an insert
that has special load distributing deep buttress threads on the outside and
the "standard" thread you are looking to repair on the inside. It screws
into the re-tapped repair hole and has four metal prongs on the top
perimeter equally spaced that are driven into the parent metal permanently
locking the insert in place. The insert has a partial relief in the side to
accommodate half of the prong. The other half stakes into the parent metal.
