It is even more logical to use

Year/month/day/hour/minute/second/decimal seconds

I seem to recall that this is an ISO standard.

It is a pity that we don't all change to this which is more logical than 
the UK etc. standard and certainly much less confusing than the way the 
Americans define their dates.
