Hi James,
Usually a sticking plunger is the result of the plunged having been bent
during the process of fitting the overdrive to the gearbox.
I would recommend removing the pump from the overdrive to correct this but,
proceed very carefully and be prepared to make or buy some special tools for
the job.

where can i find out the engine number for bn6L 3894? also, i finally got
the
od to mate to the trans. it was a job and all problems were self-induced.
the question i have is what is causing the oil pump plunger to stick when
depressed by the cam. good thing i decided to check it after i noticed it
sticking once before. is there an easy fix or is this major surgery.
