Following positive reports by others on the list, I got Kumhos (165/15) from
the Tire Rack ($30 a pop) recently for my car, local shop mounted and
balanced, scuttle shake is reduced, tires look and drive great.
Since the 165/80 15 is the old beetle size you can still go to many full
line tire shops and get them froma few manufactureres for a reasonable
price, wasn't aware Kelly made them too, thanks Gay for adding to our
knowledge base.
Some have expressed concenr about putting a "cheap" tire on our Healeys, I
would think that tire technology and the fear of being sued by
manufactureres has taken even cheap tires to a much higher standard than
anything you could get new when our cars were new.
Lastly, Joe have fun with the MGA, I just had a chance to drive one for the
first time a couple of weeks ago, I was surprised how diferent it felt than
my car, but it was fun.
