have to reset the clock, reset the seat presets, reset the mirror presets,
reset all of the radio stations, or reenter an audio system security code,
---like you might have to on your daily driver!

  Not that I haven't done the same thing myself many times, but Simon's story
  is a good reminder of why auto repair manuals tell you to disconnect the
  battery, or turn the battery switch off of yours is still operative, before
  doing mechanical work on the car.
