The Biggest Leak

The biggest oil puddle under my BJ8 is not from the rear crankshaft seal but
from the aft end of the OD. The drops form on the tie rod bushing and fall
to the floor. I am not sure if is coming from the last gasket of from the
rear oil seal. I am reluctant to mess with the OD because of the pictures in
Norman Knock's book showing someone using a torch to put the OD back
together. Is it really that difficult to replace the OD rear shaft seal?
