I had the same problem with a Moss fans about 10 years ago. A relatively
new 6 blade fan (I believe they called it a California fan) threw a blade at
about 3500 RPM. Fortunately the only damage was to the steering column
which sustained a non fatal dent. I think if there had been any other
damage I probably would have gone crazy since the car had just been
restored. I never contacted Moss about it and have reinstalled my factory
fan with a newly renovated radiator with 6 rows which seems to be doing A-OK
