HS6 Carburetors

I have a 63 BJ7 with HS6 carbs. My problem is that the needle in the float 
chamber keeps getting stuck causing the chamber to flood and run out the 
overflow pipe. The carbs were just rebuilt. I took the cover off and freed up 
the needle and it worked fine for about 20 miles. Anyone had this same 
problem??
