Burt,
I have done it in a day. Yes, you need some floor jacks. A strong helper
is strongly encouraged also. While you are in there, replace the clutch
hose. While you are in there, do the throttle cross shaft bushings.
While you are in there, do the transmission tie rod bushings. While you
are in there, check the drive shaft U-joints. While you are in there,
fit new seals to the tunnel cover.
There is a strong possibility these other tasks will increase the length
of the job from a day to a week.
