Fuel Tank Fitting

I am trying to install a new Moss fuel tank in the 100M and I can't seem to get 
the male line fitting to screw into the female tank fitting.   Do these tanks 
have the same problem as the ebay tanks.  The tank came with a 1/4 inch pipe 
plug for the drain.  Any ideas would be helpful.  I keep repeating "This is my 
hobby and I'm having fun."
