Hi Steve,

For a negative ground car, the pertronix has a red wire & a black wire.
  For this setup, the Pert red wire goes to coil positive.   Also on coil
positive is the double white wire from the ignition switch.  the Pert
black  wire goes to coil negative. No other connections. It appears that
you have a negative ground car.

For a positive ground car, the pertronix has a black-white wire & a
black wire.  For this setup, the Pert black wire goes to the ignition
switch only,  the Pert black-white wire goes to coil negative, no other
connections, & coil positive goes via a new wire to ground.

In both cases, the old distributor & trunk switch wires are not connected.
