Man dies during vehicle rally
A SHELF man has died after a crash during an historic vehicle rally.
Howard Turner, 59, of Shelf, was in a Austin Healey Sprite which was
in a collision with a Honda motorcycle on the B6479 near
Horton-in-Ribblesdale on April 15. He died more than two weeks later
from multiple injuries in Leeds General Infirmary.
Inspector Mike Harvey, of North Yorkshire Police, is now making a
fresh appeal for witnesses to the crash.
"The accident involved a classic Austin Healey convertible car and a
Honda motorcycle and has since proved fatal to the driver of the car,
Mr Turner, a married man of Shelf.
"The passenger in the car and the motorcycle rider and pillion also
sustained serious injuries."
