As they say, "The best laid plans of mice and men,........"
It is looking as though I'm going to have to find a replacement navigator
for this year's Targa Newfoundland.
Blair Harber who filled the right seat for the 2003 and '04 events just
doesn't have the time to commit to it any more.
I had an experienced rally co-driver lined up but now, with only 2 months
before the event, he has had to withdraw.
I've had plenty of offers from people who want an all expenses paid holiday
in Newfoundland but our team budget just won't stretch to that.
These are the requirements for someone who looking for an incredible
adventure:
1.) Relatively brave (screaming from the right seat tends to distract the
driver)
2. Willing to pay his/her own way. i.e. get yourself to and from St Johns NF
for the week of 8th - 15th September and pay for the accommodation package
at about $CDN1500)
3. Preferably some knowledge of performance rally navigating. (A complete
novice would probably cause us not to be a top place contender).
4. A team player. (On occasion the whole team has to muck in to fix a car
problem although AHX12 is proving to be very reliable, has had lots of
testing, and we have a great crew).
5. Must be shorter than about 5' 10" to fit under the hardtop. (We could
make arrangements to have a couple of vertebrae removed but the time is now
a little tight for that).
6. Preferably under 180 lbs.
7. You will need a race suit and late model helmet although we may be able
to borrow one.
If anyone out there is interested please don't be shy; give me a call (416)
