Our two grandchildren both fit in car seats in our son's and daughter
in law's new Mini's back seat. And room behind the back seat for all
the stuff that goes with them.
For longer trips they do take their Subaru.
I would guess that the young couple you spoke with either didn't try,
took someone else's word or had other reasons for the sale.
