List AMSOIL users:

AMSOIL is planning to indicate the ZDDP levels on their labels shortly so
consumers can see exactly what their product has. When I asked about ZDDP
here is what they had to say. As usual-no financial interest here:

This is a complicated issue, so I'll give you the short version. ZDDP (zinc
dithiophosphate) acts as a good anti-wear agent when used in motor oils. The
American Petroleum Institute (API), however, mandated a reduction in ZDDP
levels in the most current API-approved oils (API SM, ILSAC GF-4). The
contention was that ZDDP, over time, could damage catalytic converters.

API is a minimum performance standard. Some AMSOIL motor oils are
API-approved and others are not. The AMSOIL motor oils that are not
API-approved are more robust formulations than those that are. Two in
particular contain higher levels of ZDDP: AMSOIL Premium Protection 10W-40
and Premium Protection 20W-50. In fact, we are currently revising the labels
on those products to include a starburst indicting the high zinc levels.
