Hi Randy,
The rear seats in a BJ8 are fastened with four 10-32 studs welded to the
under flanges. These pass down through holes in the rear surrounding area.
The nuts, locks and flat washers securing the pans must be unscrewed from
beneath the car to remove the pans.
The rear fold down panel has 1/4" NF screws passing down through the rear
wood frame base into captive nuts in the rear panel. Then there are two
screws that screw into the right and left vertical frame pieces of the
panel, accessed from the rear wheel arches. These also barely pass through
the rear edge of the rear quarter trim panels and trap the panels between
the wheel arch and these vertical pieces of the fold down panel frame.
The rear quarter trim panels fasten along the rear door aperture flange with
sheet metal screws and cup washers. With these removed, the panel must be
brough inboard to clear the shoulder belt studs (remove their chromed acorn
nuts and screws on an earleier BJ8, plastic capping on later models) and
then bring the entire panel forward to clear the small metal lip at the rear
of the fold down panel.
