Probably not.

However as I always say - never let the facts get in the way of a good
story.

What it does show that how much we would all benefit by some degree of
standardisation - even spelling.

Patrick,

Are we using the same octane ratings?  Here in the US, the octane rating
is
the average of the Research Octane Number (RON) and Motor Octane Number
(MON).  According to wikipedia, Australia uses the RON which is normally
8
to 10 points higher than the MON.  So 91 octane in the US is probably
close
to the 95 octane in Australia (just guessing).
