My guesses (and only guesses):
1) marginal fuel pump getting heat-soaked and dying
2) vapor lock due to obstruction in fuel line and/or routing past hot component
Is your carburettor heat shield in place and properly insulated?
Recommend you try another fuel pump (you'll need a spare anyway ;)
