Keeps the tires off the concrete garage floor while keeping temperature
swings down and offers a bit of a padding to the tires as well. Thought it was
an old wives tale as well but I run soft compound tires on my other car and it
definitely seemed to work vs without the squares...Wonder if Snopes agrees
