This news has reached several of my lists, so I don't want the Healey list to
miss it.
This morning at 10:30 am, at the hospital in Monterey, where he had just been
an honored guest at the Monterey HIstoric Automobile Races, Phil Hill passed
away from complications of Parkinson's Disease. Phil was a true American hero
in motorsports, and the first American to be the Formula 1 World Champion,
driving a Ferrari. I'm grateful that I had the chance to see his victory laps
at the end of a long and courageous life, when he was driven around Laguna Seca
at the Monterey Historics in the Alfa in which he won the Pebble Beach races
