How deep should the holes be?
Are they all the way through?
If not, are they drilled from the top or the bottom?
Are you talking 4 holes only?
Every 4 inches on center across the seat?
4 inches apart across the seat?

Richard,

I did this many years ago and have very good results. I used a 1.5 to 2
inch hole saw (not sure of exact size) and drilled a 4 by 4 pattern. Not too
hard, not too soft - just right!
