Bruce, the left nut is a left-hand thread: turn it clockwise to loosen it.
The right nut is a normal right-hand thread. Turn it counterclockwise to
loosen.

Subject: [Healeys] rear axle seals

Hi all, I am attempting to replace the rear axle seals of my tricarb and
cannot get the bearing carrier nuts off. I have tried 3 different sockets
and
the nuts are so tight that they do not budge at all. I know the nuts are
handed and just want to be sure I am turning them the correct way---the left
rear wheel nut turns counterclockwise to loosen ( like the wire wheel
spinner)
and the opposite for the right rear wheel?
thanks
