i pay not attention to any odometer reading on a british car. angle drives are
notorious for self-destructing and who wants to pull a tunnel to change on out
right away. for years they were not available or hard to find, so owners like
myself drove around without a speedometer, using the tach to gauge speed.
also, it does not take a rocket scientist to pull the speedo, take the glass
off, pull the needle off and remove the guts, where you can turn the dials on
the odometer to what you want it to read. look at the wear on the car and that
will tell you more than any speedo reading. my two cents worth. hjim
