Ron,
They originally used thin (maybe 1/16") aluminum strips about 1" wide by 5"
long that had about 1/2" holes aligned for the lower two bolt holes. These are
listed in the Spare Parts List as part number 14B2630, Plate, pillar packing,
2 required, but are not illustrated in the list. Depending on the fitting up
of the windscreen assembly to the car, I've seen anywhere from none required
up to 3 needed per side.
