Yes, there is some evidence (real or imagined) of belt mfg's (other Bernie 
types)being involved in the rule making re age, costs, etc. Sort of forced 
obsolesence but I have seen no evidence of hard data supporting their position 
for such a short life cycle.  However it only applies to sanctioned events of 
course.
