i guess i am one of the lucky ones. i have had my bj8 since 1978 and as far as
i know i still have the original dynamo and starter. i do pull them off every
few years and do a thorough checkup, cleaning, oiling and changing brushes,
bearings or whatever is needed. so far the armatures have hung in there.
maybe it is because i have a spare starter and generator in the cabinet ready
to go when needed. hjim
