Yes the "U" shaped channel fits over the front edge of the door and should =
fit without trimming the edge. What is most important is that the holes for=
 the door handle and the window handle are properly centered with the squar=
e mechanism that protrudes. Same goes for the two holes at the top of your =
trim for the pull handle. If these all line up=2C and if is the key word he=
re=2C you are indeed lucky=2C then you can put your clips in the door panel=
 and gently line them up with the holes in the door and push them in place.=
 If the holes for the handles do not line up properly=2C you will have a fe=
w hours of work measuring and even moving this "U" shaped channel=2C new ho=
les=2C new rivets etc.
The fun never cease.............

Subject: [Healeys] BJ8 Door trim panels

I'm putting together the trim panels on my BJ8 doors=2C and I have a couple=
 of questions about the way they fit.I've got the clips and I can see where=
 they match up=2C but I had some squeezing down at the bottom front end whe=
n closing the door. I have new trim panels and I notice that the front edge=
 is a sort of U channel. Does this U channel wrap over the front edge of th=
e door? The vinyl wraps over the back of the panel which would make that im=
possible without trimming it back=2C but maybe that's what I should do?
I notice there are no places for clips on the front edge.When I took my old=
 panels off they were non-original=2C and had been screwed on=2C so I'm lea=
rning as I go.I've attached a photo of the edge I'm talking about=2C with t=
he vinyl pulled back a little.

Thanks=2C Stephen
