I agree on 6 cyl cars. A good machinist should get the surfaces flat.
Running the same head gasket for 40 years.
Reminds me of asking my vendor for that gasket and getting a 2' package in
the shipment.  The guy in shipping didn't  have enough cardbaord, so he
folded over the gasket to deliver it to my store safely.
The next one arrived ok.
