more than a few healeys i have worked on have scratched glass.  i pull the 
sharp pointed sheet metal screws that someone 
has replaced the flat pointed original screws with ones i have ground off the 
points to a flat surface.  i have also seen long 
panel screws that scratched glass.  BEWARE!!!
