It is not a maximum diameter, it is a minimum thickness of the drum. I =
don=E2=80=99t know what that is for Sprite drums. Wish I could be more =
helpful.

No one can answer what maximum diameter to cut is on Sprite drums. Had =
mine turned at a local foreign auto repair shop for 10 bucks a drum. =
Some had to be cut deep and one almost just a skim cut. Now one of my =
slave cylinders in the front is leaking and soaking the shoe. Car pulls =
hard to the left when the brakes are applied. Could be dangerous if you =
are not ready for it. Have all new cylinders to install that I bought =
from Ed back in 2005! Just never got around to it.

I had the new drums on my Sorite project turned at a machine shop. He =
said they had five high spots. Round and true now.

Hi Listers:

I am trying to find a source for some new rear brake drums for my BJ8. =20
My old drums seem to be out of round, as they drag in certain spots and=20
turn free in others as I rotate them. I ordered a new pair through a=20
recommended reseller for M**s and when I mounted them, they also drug in =

a couple spots and turned free in others. I tried running them but had=20
a significant shake in the pedal on braking. They were also so close to =

maximum inside diameter that I could not have them turned to true them=20
up. They were sent back.

Any other recommended sources I should check to get good quality (round) =

drums, that also might have enough metal to them that they could be=20
turned if need be?

Thanks for any info
