Might be worth a try to attack the shaft splines with a wire wheel on a dri=
ll in a semi-aggressive or aggressive manner.=C2=A0 It is amazing how the l=
east little burr can bind things up.=C2=A0 Just a thought.

Subject: [Healeys] Steering Wheel Hub and Shaft Spline Fit

 Hello,=C2=A0Has anyone experienced a problem fitting the steering wheel on=
to the splined steering shaft? I can get the steering wheel hub to go onto =
the shaft the length of the collet but then it hits a dead stop. I have che=
cked both the male and female splines and there are no obvious problems. Th=
e steering wheel is from a Mk 1 BT7 and the steering box is from a BJ7 and =
they have never been together before. The fit should be loose enough to all=
ow the hub to slide on the shaft but that doesn't seem to be the case. It s=
eems like either the OD of the shaft to too large or the ID of the hub too =
small.=C2=A0Any help is appreciated.... Harold=C2=A0=C2=A0_________________=
