Fred
Pull the brake booster out. Its time for a rebuild.=C2=A0 I used to use Pow=
er Brake Exchange in San Jose Ca when we lived in Hawaii for the booster re=
builds. They are a franchise and there are shops that may be closer to you.=
=C2=A0 Several little seals in the booster allow the brake fluid to migrate=
into the pressure canister. That=E2=80=99s were the missing fluid is hidin=
g.

[Healeys] Brakes

I am having issues with the brakes on my 66 BJ8.=C2=A0 I am new to this BJ8=
 with boosted=C2=A0brakes, but I have owned a BJ7 for many years.=C2=A0 I d=
on't find any clues in the shop manual or in Norm Nock's tech talk manual.=
=C2=A0

When I press the brake pedal, it slowly goes to the floor.=C2=A0 I am losin=
g hydraulic fluid in the reservoir but there are no apparent leaks that I c=
an see.=C2=A0 There are no fluid spots on the garage floor at each wheel an=
d no evidence of brake fluid on the wire wheels which would indicate a leak=
.=C2=A0 I have pulled each wheel and I do not see brake fluid anywhere.

Is it possible that the fluid=C2=A0is leaking into the brake booster?=C2=A0=
How am I able to check that out?=C2=A0 If this is the case, can the booste=
r be repaired by me or someone else, if so, who.=C2=A0 If fluid is leaking =
into the booster, is it=C2=A0 better to simply replace the booster and who =
is a good source?

Something always=C2=A0happens before what promises to be a great sunny week=
end.

Thanks for any help,

Fred
