Assuming that there is no significant wear at the linkages and hydraulic
issues, my understanding is that "clutches wear upwards"
So, maybe the plate is worn after 58 years. To my mind mileage is less
important than traffic and start/stop time driving.
Find a hill and note if it slips at the top of pedal movement.
