All good info and advice so far, for which many thanks. It=E2=80=99s =
worth considering that:-

I=E2=80=99m not at all concerned with the appearance of the tyres as I, =
for one, have never studied that topic sufficiently to be able to =
differentiate.

I don=E2=80=99t need to pay for a tyre that=E2=80=99s capable of doing =
things that I won=E2=80=99t require. A set of Michelin XAS will almost =
certainly last longer than I will. They are very pricey and I expect =
that one gets what one=E2=80=99s paid for. But they seem a little OTT =
for my requirements.

Still thinking about the T-tracs,

Simon

I too have had good luck with the Sprint Clasdics, which grip decently, =
at least on dry roads. A more modern tread design would probably improve =
wet grip for those rarer occasions when we get caught in the rain. The =
key will be if they kept the vintage sidewall look that helps make the =
Sprints so appealing =E2=80=A6

I have no experience with them, but I've had years with V. Sprint =

more modern on the T-Tracs.
