List, if anyone considered building a speed trials car with one of these high-performance two strokes, whether GP motorcycle or snowmobile, I imagine the best choice would be a water-cooled unit. The air-cooled GP motorcycle two-stroke engines of earlier days were very powerful, but prone to overheating and seizure under endurance (long-distance) conditions. So the factories moved on to water-cooled. To my mind the Long Course at Bonneville is something of an "endurance" situation. ArdunBill |
