Good story Dick, I think I have one better!  About 14 years ago when my  
oldest was six years she was sitting in my 1912 Model T Ford. "Dad, I can 
touch the pedals!" she said. "Fine then you can drive it!" I said. Cranked it 
up, put the handbrake half down (neutral) and told her to hold the pedal on 
the left to the floor, this is a palenatary transmission, and off we went up 
to Grandma's! Neat thing about T's if you take your foot off the pedal it 
just slows to a stop, great for kids to learn. Bob in connecticut
